This luxurious dessert wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), Petite Syrah (20%), and Merlot, (30%), grapes, harvested late in the season, towards the end of November. The wine was aged in oak barrels, according to the classic Portuguese methods of Porto. It has an intense purple red color, with characteristic orange tones at its margins and an aroma of ripe fruit, with plum jam and caramel scents. Its moderate sweetness and heavy and concentrated body make it an excellent choice to accompany aged cheeses and luscious chocolate desserts.
