Born in 2009 from a merger of three properties: the Châteaux Commanderie de Mazeyres , Vieux Bourgneuf and Prieurs de la Commanderie. Fayat Castle is located in the town of Libourne Pomerol appellation. Its vineyard covers 11.22 hectares of vineyards with an average age of 50 years. Château Fayat 2020 is a Merlot varietal aged 12 months in 50% new wood.
Fruity and fresh on the nose and reveals some floral and crisp quality. There are notes of ripe/fresh wild blackcurrant and more lightly of violet combined with delicate hints of crisp red fruit, violet and a fine touch of spice and a discreet hint of eucalyptus and pepper. The palate is fruity and shows minerality, freshness, crispness, it also notes of fresh/crisp red berries, juicy/fresh blackberry and hints lightly of fresh flowers combined with fine peony, varietal and violet notes, toast, chocolate and a subtle hint of vanilla, with a long finish.

Deep plum colour, this is all smooth edges and steel black fruit delivery, could do with a little more lift and energy. Bitter chocolate shavings and smoked rosemary on the finish.
