Shiloh Merlot Secret Reserve, whose grape clusters were hand picked and carefully culled before dawn from the best vineyards in our Holy Land, was aged in new French oak barrels for 20 months. Only the most select of these barrels were chosen for bottling. A dark and deep red Merlot with a mixture of fruit and coffee aromas and intense fruit flavors, beautifully balanced, makes this wine ideal for those seeking excellence. Due to its distinctiveness, aging will further enhance its taste.
Yarden Merlot offers up a complex array of characters including ripe berries, hints of fresh herbs, nuances of earth and layers of rich oak, elegant vanilla bean, and just a whisper of orange peel and cocoa. This fairly heavy-bodied wine possesses a satisfying richness of flavor. While already enjoyable, Yarden Merlot will improve with a few years of age and remain in good condition for a decade or so. We love Yarden Merlot with lamb, be it braised in a rich stock along with plenty of cumin and a touch of saffron or chops, hot and smoky. Duck and goose also make good flavor partners.
