Aura di Valerie Amarone Della Valpolicella 2017

30% Corvina Verenose, 35% Corvinone Verenose, 35% Rondinella

Amarone della Valpolicella, usually known as Amarone is an Italian DOCG denomination of typically rich dry red wine made from the partially dried grapes of the Corvina Verenose, Corvinone Verenose, and Rondinella. Valpolicella is in the province of Verona, within the large Veneto region near Venice.

In Italian, the name Amarone literally means “the Great Bitter”; originally, this was to distinguish it from the Recioto  produced in the same region, which is sweeter in taste.

The wine was soft pressed followed by thirty days maceration on the skins. The color is ruby red with highlights of violet.Intense aromas of cherry, ripe plum, and almond on the nose. Lots of coffee, dark chocolate, black cherry, and brown sugar with hints of molasses and fig on the palate, with a long finish.
